As a photographer accustomed to boutique hotels, the Carlton Hotel in Atascadero was a pleasant surprise. the spacious room with a balcony overlooking the courtyard provided a perfect backdrop for my artistic eye. the elegant decor and unique ambiance set it apart from generic chain hotels, appealing to my aesthetic sensibilities. The convenient location near Paso Robles wine country made it an ideal base for exploring the local vineyards after a day of wine tasting. the easy parking and proximity to restaurants added to the overall convenience of the stay. the attention to detail, from the hotel's housekeeping to the exquisite French toast at the Kitchenette, impressed me. While the room and amenities were top-notch, there were some minor issues with the shower door seal, which led to water leaking onto the bathroom floor. I look forward to returning with friends to indulge in the local wines and explore the native plant garden on the property.
